Volunteers' Programme for Paris 2020 is now open
In less than 500 days the Paris 2020 European Athletics Championships will begin at Charléty stadium. With this symbolic mark just being reached, the Paris Athlé 2020 Organising Committee has officially launched its Volunteers Programme.
The objective is to create a team of 1,400 volunteers who will play an active role in the organization of this major event for European Athletics.
“Becoming a volunteer is a unique opportunity to actively participate in the European Athletics Championships, said Jean Gracia, President of the Organising Committee. Beyond their contribution, which is essential to the success of the event, these men and women will experience an unforgettable human adventure, rich with encounters and shared emotions. This Programme is also important in order to create momentum on the way to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. We wish to encourage as many people as possible to become volunteers and support French sport in the years to come.”

Missions and conditions
The missions available are multiple and cover about fifteen sectors of the organization, such as welcome services to spectators, services to the teams and to each accredited population, transport, competition, etc.
The only conditions to be met before applying are: being 18 years old on 1 May 2020, being motivated, and being available during the training sessions, then from 22 August 2020, when the equipment will be handed over, until the final day of competition. The applications will be selected starting from autumn 2019. The recruitment phase should end in spring 2020, being followed by a period dedicated to the training sessions.
MAIF & Sports Bénévoles along with the Organising Committee
To implement the Volunteers Programme, the Organising Committee relies on the expertise of MAIF, National Partner of the Paris 2020 European Athletics Championships. The insurance company has developed a digital platform, Sport Bénévoles, that brings together on a single website organisers and people wishing to volunteer. MAIF makes this platform available to the Organising Committee, with a dedicated page and a registration form designed with the colors of the event.
