For three days, the Organising Committee welcomed the Teams Leaders representing several of the federations that will participate in the European Athletics Championships. The opportunity for Paris Athlé 2020 to showcase the services set up for delegations and to show them the official venues.
The Team Leaders Site Visit started at the Charléty stadium, everyone enjoying the new blue track that has already seduced the European athletes competing at the last Diamond League Meeting in Paris. The visit then continued in the streets of the French capital with the presentation of the half-marathon route. The team leaders were able to admire some of the iconic monuments (Eiffel Tower, Concorde, Invalides, etc.) that will give a special flavour to this race. This visit ended at the Trocadero, future theatre of the Athletics Parks, where will be located the finish life of this half-marathon. Finally, last stop of these three days was the Cité internationale universitaire de Paris, which will house the Team Village, with a viewing of some of the houses where the athletes will be staying.
Training session for 25 recruiters
Two Paris 2020 volunteers were mobilized during this Team Leaders Site Visit. A first milestone during a week marked by a training session for the 25 recruiters who will help the Organising Committee in recruiting the 1,400 volunteers. The Paris 2020 Volunteers’ Programme will enter a new phase with the start of the selection of applications very soon. In the meantime, these are still open.
