Media information

    The European media will cover the European Athletics Championships Paris 2020, showcasing the performances of some 1,500 athletes and sharing the festive atmosphere that will spread through the Athletics Park and the streets of the French capital. Have a quick overview of the essential information below in order to prepare the event in the best possible conditions.

    Accreditation

    Media representatives can register online through ARENA, European Athletics’ Event Management System.
    System closing: 14 July 2020.

    The Media Accreditation Centre will be located closely to the Charléty Stadium, in the Maison du Maroc inside the Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris.
    Opening date: Friday 21 August 2020.
    Closing date: Sunday 30 August 2020.

    TV production teams will be given a dedicated welcome and will be informed at a later stage of how to withdraw their accreditations.

    Accommodation

    The official media hotels are located next to Porte d’Orléans/Montrouge which is about 1.5km from the Charléty Stadium. From these hotels will run a shuttle service to the Charlety Stadium or to the Athletics Park (Trocadéro) based on the competition schedule. Rotations will be every 30 minutes before the start of each session and every hour once the session has started. The shuttles will run until the Media Centre closes.

    Services and working conditions

    The Media Centre
    It will be located in the Salle Charpy within Charléty Stadium. All the equipment and services necessary for you to work in smooth conditions will be available (Welcome Desk, WIFI, publications, CIS, refreshments, etc.).
    Opening: Friday 21 August 2020 from 14:30 to 20:00.
    Closing: Monday 31 August 2020 at 14:00.

    Photographers will have a dedicated space with a high quality internet connection (+ LAN connections) and lockers for their equipment. They will also enjoy a repair and loan service provided by several brands.

    The Media Tribune
    It will be equipped according to international standards and will be located on the second level – above the finish line – for print media, non-rights holders and digital media. The commentators’ positions will be on the same axis, the stand located just below.

    The mixed zone will be located next to the Media Centre.

    Catering

    The Maison du Maroc will host the Media Restaurant.

    Transport

    Upon your arrival in Paris, you will be provided with a shuttle service to the media hotels and/or the Accreditation Centre from the official ports of entry:
    • Paris – Roissy-Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG)
    • Paris – Orly Airport (ORY)
    • SNCF train station: Gare du Nord, Gare de Lyon and Gare de l’Est

    To get transfers between one of the official ports of entry and media hotels, you must provide full travel details in the ARENA system at least 72 hours before your arrival.

    A shuttle system will be running between the official competition sites (Charléty and Trocadéro), the media hotels and, if necessary, the press conference venue.

    Media Race

    The Media Race will take place on Saturday 29 August 2020 from 13:30. The format will be communicated to you later and registrations will be possible at the Media Centre.
