A unique adventure

From 25 to 30 August 2020, about 1,400 volunteers will contribute to the success of the event sharing their enthusiasm, expertise, friendliness and commitment.

Long before the first starter pistol goes off, these sports lovers will be brought together and trained by the Organizing Committee to ensure the success of the missions assigned to them. Their role will be crucial since, very often, they are the first to be in contact with spectators, athletes and officials.They will experience an amazing adventure, adding skills to their background. Those skills will be a legacy for French sports in the perspective of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

Started last April 2019, the recruitment of volunteers is coming to an end. The applications are now closed and the Organising Committee is conducting the final interviews. Promote European citizenship

The Paris 2020 Volunteers’ Programme is supported by the European Union through its Erasmus + programme. For the first time, an athletics event will rely on partners specialising in European citizenship for specific actions on this theme. Throughout their adventure, the 1,400 volunteers will be in touch with the European dimension of sport and citizen’s involvement. This “European volunteer and active citizen” initiative will lead to several activations, including discussion forums, festive and fun activities, as well as workshops with European politicians and athletes.
